2009 MMO Goals and Dreams
Jan 5th, 2009 | By knup | Category: Make Money Online, My Feature, knupNET SitesYou all saw my 2008 earnings and review from yesterday, so now it’s time to take those and turn them into action items for 2009. What can I do to make “more” money online and possible get to that full-time online potential? Many things need done. I am going to list out my goals and I want you guys to keep me accountable. At year end 2009, I better achieve most if not all of these goals. Some of these might sound small, but they are important. I’ll also revisit these goals each month and put out a monthly goals section along with my previous months earnings. Sounds like a good way to keep on top of things. So here they are.
- Use the Google services consistently among all sites. I need to verify EVERY site I have in Google Webmaster Tools along with adding a sitemap. Sitemaps are very important and it’s something I have not done for many sites as of now. Make sure the Google Analytics code is installed properly on all sites. Attempt to use Google Ad Manager for some sites.
- Complete development of all USN team sites. In 2008 I got domain names and headers done for all NBA, MLB and NFL team sites. Now I need to finalize the design, monetize them, add content, and bring in at least $1 revenue from every single site in 2009.
- Launch the UGambleNetwork.com sites. This process has begun and I just need to keep the ball moving here.
- Move knupNET.com from 278 into the top 150 on http://www.digitalproductreporter.com/make_money_online/
- Get PR boosted. I currently only have PR on 38 of my 260 domains/sites. This needs to be increased. PR goals at the end of 2009 are. 100 sites with PR1 or higher. 20 sites with PR3 or higher. Sound easy? Ha, not so much.
- Profit Goals (Revenue – Expenses). In 2008 I made nearly $3k in profit. I plan to triple this in 2009. Still not a ton compared to some of you, but my goal is $10,000 in pure profit from my sites in 2009. To break that down, that is $833 profit each month. Yikes!
- Properly use my partners, resources and consultants. I need to contract out more work. You have to spend money to make money. Content writing is going to be the big thing this year that I contract out. I also need to get some of my “partners” involved a little more heavily.
- Attend at least one Webmaster conference. Just one please.
So that’s enough goals for now. Time to get to work. What are your goals for 2009?

Those sound like solid and attainable goals. I’ve found my biggest issues with setting goals are:
1. Lack of specificity
2. Unreachable/ unrealistic
And you’ve not only come up with attainable goals, you’ve written them down!
Thanks for the comment Dara. Very true that setting them too high can be depressing. You write any out this year?
You seem to be spread very thin. Maybe you should have a goal of focusing on your best assets/projects and driving more profit that way. Best of luck in 2009.
Hi Knup, I stumbled upon your site whilst hunting around online and I’ve got to say ‘nice site!’ I like your MMO goals for this year, they don’t seem to out of reach with a bit more work, the USN sites may bring in a fair bit on their own with the right promotions. I’m just starting out myself this year with online businesses 1 of which is a MMO blog with plenty of guides and loopholes to help anyone out on their search for a decent money maker! Check out my sig and have a look around! Anyway, good luck this year with your goals, mine’s just to raise $300 to get an Xbox 360, not to unreasonable I thinks!
Hi Knup,
your goals r so nice. i wish that you manage triple your earnings. its not easy but i think you made it.
good luck
Knup,
You sound like an average, hard working guy like me. Since this is not your full time job, I think your goals sound reasonable. Good to put them on paper and constantly refer to them. How’s it going so far with the 800+ dollar profit per month? – Nate
It seems a lot to work to do, but if you manage to gain 1 dollar a day from any single blog you have, you will have a pretty good income. Good luck!
hey
I like your concept to invest the revenue of year ago in your goals for the next year.you have to spend money in order to make money.i like your MMO goals for year 2009 it’s requierd more work ‘but as i see your way of working i belive that you will comlite these goals
good luck in 2009
great stuff, cheers!
Don’t think that $3,000 isn’t something to be very proud of, because it is. I have not made nearly those numbers in a year of my efforts. You will probably have an even been year in 2009 no doubt. Building back links for 260 domains, ouch, that is hard work. Anyhow keep up the good work, you are doing great.
I have just started making money online. I hope to get $3K like you before.
So, how far you have achieved your goals this year?
I hope i can match your success with my new venture.
So it’s 2010..how do these compare to the actual performance?
