Regardless of your paleoness everyone needs a side of oatmeal, or brown rice every now and again. Quinoa is a non grain, it is a seed, but it cooks up, and tastes like a grain. Quinoa can be used to replace grains in your over the top paleo lifestyle meals. It has much the same texture, and feel as a real grain. The good thing about quinoa is that it is a complete protein. Out side of meat sources, that is tough to find. It contains all 8 essential amino acids. It also contains B vitamins, and omega 3 fatty acids. All good stuff. It is awesome that quinoa is high in protein.
While it might not be totally paleo, it does fill in the gaps in a grainless diet. You can not beat it for all of the benefits. Ill tell you though, I am not crazy about the way that it tastes. The benefits out weight the way that it tastes. It is not so bad that you i can not choke it down just because of the quinoa nutritional benefits.. My special someone and her mom love the stuff, and we have it when she comes over for dinner.
Quinoa is a good energy food, and it is good to have both before a workout and after a workout. Give it a try if you have not already done so, and see what you think for yourself. These days you can get it easily at your local grocery store. It is easy to prepare too.
