Google has taken another step in taking over the web world.  They recently acquired Marratech, a video conferencing software company which will enable desktop driven videoconferencing from Google. The VP of Engineering Douglas Merrill writes,

As a company, we thrive on casual interactions and spontaneous collaboration. So we’re excited about acquiring Marratech’s video conferencing software, which will enable from-the-desktop participation for Googlers in videoconference meetings wherever there’s an Internet connection.

If Google can perfect this and get it integrated with Google Talk, Apps, Desktop they will certainly make a mark once again.
