Comments and the DoFollow Plugin

Mar 6th, 2007 | By knup | Category: Blogging

Thanks to Ajay and his ‘Why You Should Comment on My Blog‘ article, I’ve decided to do some things to my comment section as well. I’ve installed and activated the DoFollow plugin by Denis de Bernardy which disables the rel=nofollow attribute in comments. This is significant for those of you that like to comment in that it gives you a legit link. And you all know how important link building can be. There are a number of other WordPress plugins out there that are used to accomplish what DoFollow does, such as:

I also installed the Show Top Commentators plugin by Nate Sanden. This plugin is to spark more discussion and comments from my readers. You are rewarded with a sitewide link if you can make the weekly top 10 commentators. Since this blog is brand new – it only takes a few comments to get on this list. Why not make a quick comment and get that link :)

  1. Thanks for the NoFollow plugin buddy – really inspires the comments!

    Done. LOL!

  2. Was there an increase in traffic and comments from going dofollow? Did you get on any of the lists?
